Rape Aggression Defense System (R.A.D.) is a program to give women the skills needed to defend themselves. Topics will include mindset, risk reduction, avoidance and tactics and techniques in basic hands-on self-defense. This course is over 12 hours long and it is taught over 4 nights from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The instructor for this course is Coreena Behnke who is a Portland Police Officer and Director of the R.A.D. program for Amy St. Laurent Foundation. Coreena has worked for the Portland Police Department since 1999. In 2002 Coreena became involved with the R.A.D. program in Portland and has since become an Instructor Trainer and is currently certified in Basic, Advanced, Keychain, Aerosol, Seniors, RADKids and RAD for men.
