Service Description

WISR’s experienced instructors will guide students through laws pertaining to carrying a concealed handgun and home defense considerations with this 7-hour course. Topics will include an in-depth review of use of force laws, handgun safety techniques, stress shooting fundamentals, weapon management, effects of stress and survival mindset. After practical exercises in the classroom students will be provided the opportunity to develop skills on accuracy, trigger management and recoil management during a 200-round course of fire on the range. This course is perfect for those students who seek to refine their handgun skills under the watchful eyes of our experience instructors. All shooters who attend this class MUST HAVE PREREQUISITE knowledge to be able to safely manipulate, handle, load and unload a handgun. Our class qualifies you to apply for your Maine State concealed firearm permit, Compliant with M.S.R.A Title 25, Chapter 252, Section 2003. Students can bring their own firearm, or one will be provided for you free of cost, along with ear & eye protection. All firearms will be safety checked before entering classroom, as no ammunition is allowed until the range portion of the class. MANDATORY EQUIPMENT LIST •Handgun (380 or greater caliber, slide must lock to rear) •Optional Belt and holster (no cross draw, shoulder holsters or ankle holsters) •3 magazines or 2 speed loaders •200 rounds for handgun, cost of ammunition not included in base price
